Summary of Changes
Q1 Firmware Version 8.21 is now available in all language versions. It contains all the following changes and fixes:
| Release |
Changes Implemented In This Release |
| 8.21 |
In response to user feedback, this version improves the overall audio quality of the Q1 and enhances the audio equalisation. |
| 8.19 |
This major update added A2DP functionality to the Q1:
- From version 8.19 onwards the Q1 supports A2DP audio streaming, so you can listen to music,
podcasts, and hear turn-by-turn direction information from a phone GPS application.
If your phone or GPS application supports A2DP simply start playing music or launch the GPS
application and the audio will automatically transfer to the Q1.
- In response to customer feedback we have made it even easier to end a call: now you end calls
with a single click of the BlueAnt button.
- Double-clicking the BlueAnt button during a call now switches between Voice Isolation Standard and Max.
- The voice isolation mode now reverts to Voice Isolation Standard at the end of every call.
- Updated voice recogition software provides an improved response to the Answer
and Ignore commands.
- Enhanced audio provides a richer and louder sound.
Please note that the addition of A2DP to the Q1 may affect the operation of multipoint on some phones. If you
experience problems with multipoint after upgrading your Q1, we recommend that you go to the Bluetooth menu on
your phone, locate the Q1 pairing and turn off A2DP for that connection, if your phone provides this functionality. |
| 8.16 |
A new confirmation prompt was added to the "Call Speed Dial" command.
When you ask
the Q1 to call one of your speed dials, the Q1 will now repeat the speed dial command and ask you "Is That Right?" You can either say "Yes" to continue with the call, or
"No" to cancel and return to the "Say A Command" prompt. |
| 8.15 |
This release added the following changes:
- Enhanced volume for call audio and voice prompts to further improve the user experience.
- The Q1's audio volume is now synchronized with
the phone's audio setting on most phone models.
- A compatibility issue with the "Voice Dial" feature on some Nokia phones has been resolved.
- A problem with call audio when switching between two calls has been resovled. Prior to this release
if you answered a second incoming call, or initiated a call from the mobile handset, while you were already on an
active call through the Q1, some phone models did not automatically transfer the audio from the new
call to the Q1. On most
phone models the audio will now automatically transfer to the Q1 in this situation (some phone models do not support the feature at all, so if the audio still does not transfer on your phone after you apply the update then you can manually transfer the audio by clicking the "Vol +" and "Vol -" buttons together).
- Some compatibility issues when swapping between two incoming calls on Samsung V-Series phones have been resolved. Prior to this release, the Q1 was incorrectly initiating the redial command when swapping between two calls on certain Samsung phones.

Which Firmware Version Is Installed On My Q1?
Go to your phone's Bluetooth menu and look at the pairing information for your
BlueAnt Q1. The firmware version is displayed next to BlueAnt Q1 in the list.
For example, if
your phone's Bluetooth list displays BlueAnt Q1 V8.21 then you have Firmware
Version 8.21 installed on your Q1.
Please note that when you complete a firmware update you must delete the old Q1 pairing information, power down your phone and then power it back on again before you re-pair your Q1 with your phone. If you do not do this then you
may experience problems with the pairing process and with the new firmware. You may also continue to see the old firmware version
number displayed on your phone. By deleting and then re-pairing you can verify that the update has completed successfully.
For advice and help with the pairing process, please see our dedicated pairing guide.
